The Purpose of the Friends of the Library

The purpose of the Friends of Uxbridge Public Library is to enhance and support the extension of the services and resources of the Uxbridge Public Library and to assist in raising community awareness of the public library.

How do I become a member?

Any individual or organization interested in promoting the goals of the Friends of the Uxbridge Public Library can become a member by applying to the library and paying the membership fees. Any person who has performed distinguished community service may, on the recommendation of the Board of Directors, be elected an Honorary Member without dues.

What activities do members participate in?

Friends of the Library assist with delivering materials to individuals who are unable to come to the library themselves, shelf reading,  fundraising, special event programming, library projects, Book Sales, and the promotion of the library in the community.

How much does membership cost?

For a adult, the cost is $10 per year.
For a family, the cost is $20 per year.
For a student, the cost is $5 per year.
For a child, the cost is $1 per year.

What are the benefits of membership?

Members will have a “Friends of the Library” sticker added to their library card. They will receive Book Sale previews, a copy of the Bestseller List, and a tax receipt for their membership dues. They can also Adopt-a-Book at cost. Most of all, Friends of the Library have the satisfaction of promoting reading and library services to their community!
